Nana, the Babysitter... Day 1
This is Nana Banana the BEST babysitter in the whole world, reporting LIVE from ... blogland! Today was the Mommy's first day back to work, and Nana got to babysit the darlingest grandbaby in the world. We started out going to McDonald's to meet Uncle Mathew for lunch... only Luz had already had lunch so she just drank milk and played with the Happy Meal Toy - Pinocchio... which by the way, she said needed to STAY at McDonald's when we left -- so it did.
Although Nana brought the hula hoops today - and Luz was WAAAAAAAAY impressed with Nana's hoop abilities, she is was not much into the old if at first you don't succeed, try try again thing... she did enjoy carrying her hula hoop around though. We actually even TOOK it to McDonald's for lunch... yea...
We had hoped for a very pretty day - because it was rather warmish - in the 60's - and that's not supposed to happen again for quite some time... so we had hoped... but instead it jusssst barely drizzled all afternoon - jussssst enough to keep the playground all wet so we couldn't use it! Grrrr! I dare say our Little Luz is a model that NEEDS a certain amount of outdoor play and hOOpla each and every day. And the fresh air probably doesn't hurt anything either! But that was not going to happen today... so instead we played with boring dumb ol toys! LOL! (not that ANY of HER toys are boring or dumb ol' ... in fact they are all quite exciting and quite brand new!)
So we played, and we sang, and Mostly what we did was build blocks! (okay... maybe it was equal shares of the Diego video game to hunt down wild animals in the jungle and blocks) Little Luz LIKES blocks! She likes to build them. She likes to knock them down. She likes when they FALL down without being knocked! Annnnnd she is very creative in her play with blocks! We made towers, and we made a huuuuuuge pyramid, and we made a house! Well... sort of a house... SHE called it a house! And we used some of the critters from the farm for people and she played she was the little something and I was the mommy something and she made little squeaky voices for her little thing.
(she was a squirrel... I was a bunny) And she made a car out of blocks, and she used my telephone for the store! The child is a bloomin' genius, I'm tellin' ya! Very innovative!

replyThat wee pea is a smart one! That tower of blocks is proof pos!
So Nana enjoys sitting for wee Luz? (Duh! Dumb question!) Our Amanda has her hands full, doesn't she? Luz is sharp and busy! Oh I love seeing Amanda scramble like the rest of us! (Hee hee hee! evil laugh here, with MUCH love and humor!)
S and I have already talked about it - I'll be Nana and he'll be Pappy... I love it! And Ronin wants to give us grandbabies already, so I hope I get to experience the joy you have! (But not before he's 30! LOL!)
Blessed are those that give - and those that are loved. :) You are both!
