Luz At Allen's Pond...

Today Nana, and Memaw, and Little Luz went on an adventure at Allen's Pond. Our original intention was to take Luz over to ride the NEW Dora bike Santa brought her for Christmas! That plan took an abrupt change!

First Luz was distracted by the playground!
(nothing wrong with following life's little distractions...)
Soon enough she decided to give the bike a try!

And... soon enough she decided pedaling
really wasn't working for her!

Running is really EVER so much more fun!
(especially with helmet, knee pads and elbow pads!)

Well, okay ... so maybe NOT a helmet! But knee
pads and elbow pads really ARE cooool!

Nana? Could you PLEASE try to keep up?

Where does THIS go Nana?

Tie my shoe, please?
(i think she just needed a rest!)
There was a cool Gazebo at the top overlooking the Pond -
but there was a "young couple" up there, so we high tailed it
back down!

C'mon Nana... Memaw's over here!

See? We're back!
The "Just Us" Adventures . . .

So Hector and I had our first real, just the 3 of us outing last night. We have had many outings but his family or my family has always been with us. We went bowling, which she was VERY excited about going to do! The BEST part was that Santa was there when we got there ( an employee just wanting to make kids happy) and he was free!!! Luz RAN in the door, RAN right into his arms, with out him even expecting it, he picked her up and we took her picture. He didn't even have time to know she was there before he realized he was holding this cuddly, loving little girl! She was THE HIT of the night.

ALL of the employees fell immediately in love and thought she was the cutest thing on earth. It was a lot of fun to say the least and praying that her 6lb ball made it all the way down the lane was common practice, lol! She actually could not have cared less if it made it all the way down, nor did she care if she hit a pin. Once the fun of throwing the ball was over....that was it. There was nothing else to care about, lol...oh, except the chicken strips waiting over at the table. Apparently they are DELICIOUS!
Today was raining and yucky outside, plus mommy and daddy are OUT OF MONEY so we had to come up with something inside and free. I looked on line and found the Chesapeake Children's Museum. It was about 15 minutes away in Annapolis and it was free as long as we took some canned goods. It was great. They had all kinds of different aquariums of fish, turtles, frogs, snakes, sharks, eel, lizards, chinchillas and a rabbit. They had lots of musical instruments to play and lots of interactive toys. It was a house that someone had turned into this cool, laid back, hippie type place. Everything was used or donated and and it was a very free spirited type place. It took her a while to warm up but once she did she loved it!

Mommy and Luz play dress up....
She was only interested in dressing up with the SHOES!!!
Tonight she surprised the HELL out of me. Her new things is that she LOVES to just sit at the computer and pretend she is typing. So she sits and types and types. Tonight she says "mommy, I spelled Luz." So I walk over and sure enough she had typed L-U-Z on the screen. To make sure that it wasn't a fluke, I erased it and asked her to do it again...so she did! She is a genius I tell ya! She had been learning this from a puzzle that PopPop had made for her but I did not know that she could recognize the letters on the keypad. I was soooooooo proud! :)

Luz decides to wear her Fairy hat while being
Dora the explorer!!!
It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Wednesday night we decided to decorate for Christmas...well actually I decided, lol. We do not typically keep junk food in the house and Luz LOVES Doritos so I stopped and bought a big bag of Doritos, for daddy and Luz and a bag of old bay crab potato chips for me and some Pina Colada mix for mommy and daddy to share the cheer with :)

She was so cute, she was very excited and when I pulled the tinsel out of the bag she took it all and put it on her head and ran around wearing the tinsel. Then she decided since daddy doesn't have any hair HE should wear it on his head. So he did. She couldn't decide which was better, the Doritos or the decorating so she took turns giving each of them equal attention! We all had a LOT of fun, it was very special.

Enjoy the pics...yes our tree is very small, dont make fun of it!
Learning New Things!
Some parents may brag about their child learning their abc's or 123's - but we have more fun things to brag about! LOL! Seeing how Luz's Mommy doesn't have much time to blog, I am posting a bit -- paraphrasing from an email the Mommy sent me - including some pictures!
The family visited Uncle Mathew's house the other night where Luz learned how to shoot pool! (very important stuff for 3 year olds to know!) Here is the Daddy teaching her the finer points.
And HERE is Luz figuring out for herself a much
EASIER way to play this game!
(did I tell ya she was a smart child???)
~~~~~~~Now for some
OLYMPIC TRAINING!!!Mommy has been teaching Little Luz how to do a somersault!
She has now mastered the process and tumbles all over the apartment!
Starting position!
Ready to roll!
A
PERFECT tumble!
(Nana gives it a 10.0)
TA-DAAA!
(did ya see her
stick that landing?)
(and with
MATCHING socks too!)
Whooo hooo!
